The Oostpoort (Eastern Gate) is a historical site in Delft. The gate is old, it was built around 1400.
The Old City of Dordrecht and the Biesbosch
Dordrecht, near Rotterdam, has an exceptionally beautiful city center and harbor. When we visited this city I had no trouble making some nice photos.
The HSL High Speed Railway near Zoetermeer
Just a few blocks away from my house, the HSL high speed railway goes past Zoetermeer. The track is nothing special at first sight, but at some points when it crosses the water it becomes very interesting on a photo.
Haarlem and the Spaarne
Haarlem is a beautiful city. We spent the weekend there and explored the old town.
Amsterdam IJ
After I visited Vodafone for work, I walked around the Amsterdam IJ and made some photos. I did not have a tripod and it was during daytime, so the light was nothing special. Surprisingly, the shot I made of the houseboats there became my most popular photo on 500px.
Oosterheem, Zoetermeer
My neighborhood Oosterheem in Zoetermeer is very new. The shopping center was recently completed. I think they did a good job.
Dutch Secret Service Building (AIVD)
The Dutch Secret Service (AIVD) building in Zoetermeer is maybe one of the ugliest buildings in the world. Even so, it fascinates me. And because it is just arm’s length away from my office, during lunch I walked to it.
Watertoren Zoetermeer
Zoetermeer has a classic water tower. As one of the few relatively old and classic structures in the town, it is rather unique.
Parking Garage Nederlandlaan Zoetermeer
The parking garage under my office was recently painted. Not that it has become that interesting. Parking garages must be among of the least inspiring places on earth.
