The Kaapse Bossen are one of the most beautiful forests in The Netherlands. Famous for its autumn colors. This year I made a long walk through the forest, capturing as much of the colorful beauty as I could.

Kaapse Bossen is a nature reserve in the Utrecht province, being managed by Natuurmonumenten. Hendrik Swellengrebel bought the area around 1750, after returning from South-African Capetown. The forests reminded him of the forest behind the Table Mountain near Capetown. Amidst the Kaapse Bossen is the estate De Ruiterberg. The gardens of this estate were created between 1917 and 1923, by garden architect Petrus Hermannus Wattez.

It was actually pretty busy in the forest with people, as the weather was very good for this time of year. It took some time to shoot these photos without people on them. I made most shots with the 24-240 Sony lens, leveraging the compression achieved when zooming in on the trees. There were also some typical mushrooms on the ground, and I did not forget about those.
